Foody ("we", "our", or "us") is an AI-powered mobile application that helps you manage your fridge inventory, discover recipes, track nutrition, and more. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Foody uses AI to power its core features. To provide these features, certain data is transmitted to third-party AI providers via our secure server-side proxy (Supabase Edge Functions). Your API keys and credentials are never stored on your device.

AI responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for food safety, dietary, or medical decisions.
Photos: When you take or upload a photo (fridge, food, or receipt), the image is compressed on-device and transmitted securely to our backend (Supabase Storage) and to our AI proxy for analysis. Fridge photos are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket. Foodygram food photos are stored in a public storage bucket (as they are intended to be shared in the social feed).
Voice recordings: When you use the voice input feature, a short audio recording is captured on your device and transmitted in base64-encoded format to our AI proxy for processing. Voice recordings are not permanently stored on our servers; they are processed in real time and discarded.
You can revoke microphone and camera permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking these permissions will disable the corresponding features in the app.
Foodygram is an optional Premium feature that allows users to share photos of food dishes with other Foody users.
Please do not post photos that contain identifiable people without their consent, or any content that violates our Terms of Use.
Foody offers optional paid subscriptions (Foody Premium) and in-app purchases. All payment transactions are processed by the following services:
We do not store your payment card details or billing information. All financial transactions are handled entirely by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
RevenueCat may collect anonymous purchase event data and subscription status for the purpose of managing entitlements. Please review RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.
ICE virtual rewards are an in-app virtual currency with no real-world monetary value and are not subject to payment processing.
Your account data, fridge inventory, recipes, chat history, calorie logs, and other app data are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase (supabase.com). Access is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning each user can only access their own data.
Authentication credentials (session tokens) are stored securely on your device using the operating system's secure storage mechanism (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) via expo-secure-store.
Daily usage counters (for rate-limited features) and certain display preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and are not transmitted to our servers.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
